Recently fishery business sector in VN are informed the newest change of NAFIQAVED.

After the dissolve of Ministry of Fishery (2007), specialized sections were merged to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The former centers in charge of fishery product inspections and certification called NAFIQAVED still have the same name until recently. Now they are renamed as "TRUNG TÂM CHẤT LƯỢNG NÔNG LÂM THỦY SẢN" (Center for Agro, Forestry and Fishery Products Quality) effective since January 14th, 2009, informed by NAFIQAVED 5. The equivalent name in English of this center, which is known now as NATIONAL AGRO-FORESTRY-FISHERIES QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT - BRANCH ... (1,2 .. 6) will be effective since February 1, 2009.

The changes are followed the promulgation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Decision No 118/QD-BNN dated December 11, 2008 known as Regulations on Inspection and Certification of Food Quality, Hygiene and Safety.
